My life

Well, right now, it's rocky. My boyfriend and I are taking a break for just the weekend. I don't want much pity, I just want company.

Fav song

She grew up with the children of the stars
in the Hollywood hills and the boulevards.
Her parents threw big parties. Everyone was there.
They hung out with folks like Dennis Hopper and Bob Seger and
Sonny and Cher.

She feels safe now in this bar on Fairfax.
And from the stage I can tell that she can't let go and she can't
relax.
And just before she hangs her head to cry,
I sing to her a lullaby
I sing:

(chorus)
Everything's gonna be all right.
Rockabye, rockabye.
Everything's gonna be all right.
Rockabye, rockabye, rockabye.

She still lives with her mom outside the city
down that street about a half a mile.
And all her friends tell her she's so pretty
but she'd be a whole lot prettier if she smiled once in a while.
'Cause even her smile looks like a frown.
She's seen her share of devils in this angel town.

(chorus)

I told her I ain't so sure about this place.
It's hard to play a gig in this town and keep a straight face.
Seems like everybody's got a plan.
It's kind of like Nashville with a tan.

(chorus)

Loved this growing up.

Analysis of the 3 pieces

As I look through my pieces of work, I saw myself editing quite a bit. I used words that I knew I could improve on if I just took my time. But we had to write it quickly, and we couldn’t stop, so I when I corrected these three pieces, I seemed to have made them longer in length. These pieces were short; only 5 or 6 lines to be exact. Now, they are longer than that after correcting them.

Creative # 3

Cari walked to the park, and sat on the swings, lost in thought.
What in the world was I thinking, she thought to herself as she swung. I really hurt her feelings.
“Cari, are you ok?”
She looked up and saw Brad looking extremely concerned.
“Kind of, not really,” she replied, grabbing a stone from the ground.
Brad sat down next to her. She got up in fear, and walked over to the basketball court. She chucked the rock, and hit the backboard.
He walked up to her, grabbed her hand, and turned her to face him.
“Cari, you have no reason to act this way. We like each other; what we did to Shava was not wrong, not in my eyes,” he said, stroking her face ever so gently.
“Brad, that’s the thing. I don’t just like you.” Cari said, looking down.
“What do you mean, Cari? I don’t understand.”
“I---I----I love you, Brad!” Cari revealed, wrapping her arms around him.
Brad just held her there as rain started to fall. Cari’s hair was getting wet, and a piece was against her face. Brad pushed it back behind her ear, and gazed into her ocean-blue eyes. The rain was just pounding on the court; you could hear the ground withering away.
He leaned in and kissed her. And this time, she didn’t run away….

Creative #2

I was sitting at my vanity, trying to cover up the multiple bruises left all over my body. The song “Face Down” by the Red Jumpsuit Apparatus was playing on the radio. I was humming along with it, and I heard heavy footsteps. Daryl walks in, beer in hand.
“I absolutely HATE this song! Turn it off!” he ordered, pointing a greasy finger at me.
“Please, let’s not fight. The kids are outside playing by the river, and I don’t want them to hear it,” I said, shaking underneath my robe.
“I honestly don’t care if they hear me,” he said, wiping his fingers on his jeans. There’s one thing I hate: he always uses his clothes like a napkin.
“Please calm down?” I asked weakly, trying my best to stand.
“Calm down?” he raged.
He grabs me from where I was standing by the scruff of my neck, and throws me onto the bed. It was my father’s old waterbed which was aging. So, the bed popped and water was everywhere. I was dripping from head to toe as I tried to get up.
Daryl takes his belt off and strikes me numerous times. I collapsed after so many beatings, and tried my best to cover myself. That did no good, since Daryl is so strong. I eventually backed out.
Do you take this man to be your lawful, wedded husband?
I do………

Creative piece #1

The lady saw the rain, and decided to use her brand new umbrella. She has a trenchcoat on with flats, and her hair is down. As she walks down the street, people look at her and think: wow, that’s peculiar, so they all laugh and point as she walks down the street. She feels protective of the fingers in her new umbrella and plastic covering.
“Look at her,” a lady sneers. “She’s wearing things you shouldn’t wear in this kind of weather.”
“Stop, it’s her choice what she wears,” the man said. “Let her do what she wants.”
That lady turned and smiled at the man. He smiled back and waved. She waved back, and turned to walk off.

Being First suxs hardcore

So today in class: couldn't take it. I am horrible with taking criticisms, and I felt like flipping out. So, I appreciated all the suggestions each and every one of you made. Like Strong said, it was a short story. I tried not to make it into a novel, but from the sounds of the suggestions, I can make it into one. So, I will correct this story and make it into a better story. And someone commented it was high-schoolish. That's what I was going for in a way.

New Family Member

On October 7, 2008, Kylie Lynn Eppolito was brought into the world. She is 7 pounds and 1.6 ounces. My brother is going to be an amazing father; he bought her a ton of Disney movies, and has already shown the qualities of being a great daddy. My mother was there to witness this historical event. She kept me updated on the process, and now Kylie is at home with her mommy and daddy. She has big eyes, full head of hair, and sticks her tongue out just like my brother used to do. God, I can't wait to finally meet her, and hold her in my arms!
